The Bivariate Density Statlet displays the joint distribution of two random variables. It is one of the new additions to Version 17 to help visualize large amounts of data. Three formats are available:
1. A three-dimensional histogram.
2. A bivariate normal density function fitted to the data.
3. A nonparametric density function estimate.
The Statlet is very useful for detecting important features of the data such as correlation, outliers, and multiple modes.
